The Snatching by ~adike94:iconadike94:

The Snatching

“Why is it always your way?!” Jason asked rudely. “You always have it your way! Why can’t we actually do something?” Jason continued. “Well for starters, the last time you had it your way we almost died.” Anne argued. “Oh come on now! I almost killed us?! No, there was a slight problem when Danny was playing with the lighter an-“ Jason was cut off “And almost set the house on fire if it wasn’t for me so are you going to keep arguing?” Anne stated. “Fine. Whatever.” Jason gave up.  Jason is thirteen and his sister Anne is sixteen. They always have altercations like this one. After the argument Jason went to his room and started playing music. “I’m going to pick up Danny! Do you want to come?” Anne asked Jason. “Not really” Jason said. Danny, whose ten, is Jason’s and Anne’s little brother. Danny gets out of school later then they do so Anne picks him up. “Alright, see you later” Anne said. They both don’t have any idea on what’s about to happen.
“I wonder what’s taking them so long” Jason said to himself. “It’s been an hour and it never takes this long to get Danny” Jason continued to worry. Hours went by and still no sign of entire Danny or Anne. Jason was scared. All he could do is wait. Jason’s dad came home and Jason said that Anne never came home. “This isn’t right Jason. Let’s call the police.” Jason’s dad suggested. “Hello officer this is Phil Auston, my daughter, Anne Auston and my son Danny Auston never came home. My daughter went to pick my son up at 2:45 and they never came back.” Jason’s dad explained. “Okay, Thank you, Bye” Jason’s dad hung up the phone. “They’re sending and eminent investigator to solve the case” Jason’s dad explained to Jason. In the back of Jason’s head he was still worried that something isn’t right about this whole thing
“Officer Trudent?” “Yes Officer Davison?” “You’ve been assigned a missing person’s report” Officer Davison told Officer Trudent. “Okay, give it here” Officer Trudent said. Officer Davison handed over the file. The case was the Auston case. “This isn’t good Officer Davison, I’m off to the school” Officer Trudent explained. Officer Trudent is one of the best at his job. He’s found over 100 missing kids, teens, and adults. The officer arrived at the school. He went to some houses and asked questions but they all said “Never saw them.” Officer Trudent was about to quit after the next house. He rang the doorbell. An elderly lady answered the door. “Good evening Officer. May I ask what you are doing here?” The elderly lady asked. “Hello madam,” Officer Trudent began “had you seen a little boy about ten and a teenage girl this afternoon around 3:00?” “I think I might have. Do you have a picture of them I could look at?” the elderly lady asked. “Sure, right here.” Officer Trudent whipped out a photo of Anne and Danny. “Yes Officer, I had seen them today, they were leaving the school with another man.” The elderly lady explained. “Thank you madam, you’ve helped us out a great deal.”
Officer Trudent then went into his car and then all of a sudden his beeper went off. It was about the case, he had to get to the police station immediately. As soon as Officer Trudent arrived Officer Davison came up “We just got an emergency call from Anne Auston, the missing teenage girl, she said that we need to go to the address as quick as we can.” “Well what are you waiting around for go!” Officer Trudent yelled. “Right away sir” Officer Davison said. As soon as you knew it, sirens went off everywhere. Everyone was scrambling, trying to save these innocent children. “Yes, we got the person!”
As soon as Jason heard the news that his sister and brother were okay, he sighed a breath relief. But still Jason was confused. Why Anne and Danny. And also what motivated the person into taking them? All the questions would soon be answered, but right now all he wanted was to see Danny and Anne.” I’d wish I didn’t get into a fight with Anne because she could have died and the last thing she would remember would be us fighting” Jason thought to himself. Jason decided to pull out and abridge version of his favorite book. All he could do is wait until Anne and Danny were home to explain the whole thing.
“GET YOUR HANDS UP!” Officer Trudent irately screamed. Bursting through the door was a young man with his hands up. Officer Davison apprehended the criminal and placed him in the back seat of the police car. Officer Trudent ran into the home to see if Anne and Danny were okay. He found them in a locked room and let them out. “Thank you officer! Thank you so much!” Anne shouted with tears. “Thank you officer” Danny kindly said. “You’re welcome” the officer told the scared children. Anne, Danny, and Officer Trudent rode back to the police station. “Officer Trudent, may I please call my dad and brother, I really want to hear their voices” Anne asked. The officer condoned Anne to make the call. “Thank you” Anne called her house. Her father picked up “Dad! It’s Anne, you have to come here and pick us up.” Anne said “Okay see you soon, bye” Anne hung up. “They’ll be here any second” Anne told Officer Trudent.
On the drive to the police station, Jason realized that the roads were cherubic. It was like the whole world knew what happened and wanted Jason and his dad to get to the police station fast. They finally arrived at the station. As soon as they walked in Anne, Danny and Officer Trudent were there to greet them. “Okay Anne, time to explain all what happened.” Officer Trudent said. “Okay” Anne started. “I had just got into the school and went in to get Danny. I didn’t realize that behind me there was this guy following me. Once I got Danny, he made himself known and said if I didn’t do what he said, he kill us. So I had to be adherent to him the whole time or else we were dead.” Anne explained. Jason was trying to fabricate a picture in his head.  Anne started to continue the story. “He told me to drive to the address and as soon as we got there he threw us in the room you found us in like he was trying to get rid of us by making us stay in that room until we died. That was it and then you came and took him away” Olivia ended. “Thank you Anne, that’s enough evidence to throw him in jail for kidnapping and threatening a lives of minors.” Officer Trudent said
The next couple of weeks, the trial was held for the crime. Anne told her story again. The elderly lady also testified. Danny also told a story similar to Anne’s. The jury found the young man guilty. He now has to spend the rest of his life in jail. As for Anne, Jason, and Danny they all became a tighter family and no longer complained. Officer Trudent was promoted Chief inspector and is still helping find missing people everyday but he’ll never forget this case where he helped a family out.
